General Points
Electronic submissions are processed exclusively online via:
https://publications.skums.ac.ir
Terms of Submission:
- Submitted manuscripts must be original.
- Manuscripts must not be published or under consideration elsewhere.
- Accepted manuscripts become the property of SKUMS journals and undergo copyediting.
- Submission must be completed by one of the authors.
Reporting Guidelines
Authors must follow internationally recognized reporting standards depending on study type.
- STROBE — Observational studies
- CONSORT — Randomized trials
- PRISMA — Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
- SPIRIT — Study protocols
- CARE — Case reports
- AGREE — Clinical practice guidelines
- COREQ — Qualitative studies
- ARRIVE — Animal studies
- SQUIRE — Quality improvement studies
- STARD — Diagnostic studies
Types of Articles
- Original Research: approximately 5000 words, structured abstract, maximum 6 tables/figures.
- Review Articles & Meta-analyses: approximately 8000 words, structured abstract.
- Systematic Reviews: must follow PRISMA methodology.
- Mini Reviews: approximately 4000 words.
- Short Communications: approximately 2000 words.
- Commentaries: approximately 1000 words.
- Case Reports: approximately 1500 words.
- Letters to Editor: approximately 1000 words.
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should be submitted as DOC files using Times New Roman font size 12 and double spacing.
The blinded manuscript file must contain no author-identifying information.

Abstract and Keywords
Abstracts should be concise and factual with a maximum of 250 words.
Three to six keywords selected from Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) should follow the abstract.
References
References should follow Vancouver style and be numbered sequentially according to appearance in the text.
- References should generally be within the previous 5 years.
- Journal abbreviations should follow MEDLINE standards.
- DOI information should be included when available.
Tables and Figures
- Tables should be submitted in DOC or RTF format.
- Figures must have minimum 300 dpi resolution.
- All tables and figures must be cited within manuscript text.
- Previously published materials require copyright permission.
Units, Abbreviations and Statistics
- Use metric and SI units whenever applicable.
- Only standard abbreviations should be used.
- Statistical methods must be clearly described.
- Statistical software and versions should be reported.
Conflict of Interests and Funding
Authors must disclose all conflicts of interest and funding sources.
If no conflicts exist, authors should declare:
"Authors declare no conflict of interests."
Publication Charges
SKUMS journals are Platinum Open Access journals and normally do not charge publication fees except for Journal of Herbmed Pharmacology (JHP).
Ethical Approval and Ethical Considerations
Studies involving humans or animals must include ethical approval information and informed consent statements where applicable.
IRCT or ICTRP registration codes should be provided when necessary.
Acknowledgments and ORCID
Technical, scientific, financial, and statistical assistance should be acknowledged.
All authors must provide ORCID identifiers.
Preprints and Conference Articles
Preprints are accepted for submission.
Conference papers may be considered provided they are expanded, properly cited, and meet journal requirements.
